The tradition of friendship books began more than 450 years ago in Renaissance Europe. Students, scholars, and travelers carried small books called Album Amicorum — Latin for Book of Friends. Instead of collecting online profiles, they collected handwritten messages, drawings, poems, and signatures from the people they met along the way.
Over the centuries, the tradition evolved into the beloved Freundschaftsbücher — German for friendship books — that generations of children have passed from friend to friend, filling each page with favorite things, dreams, memories, and little works of art.
We named our brand Album Amicorum in its honor — and My Friends Book continues that timeless tradition.
